Join Our Team
You will be the Deputy Head of Pricing for our International Pricing team reporting to the Head of International Pricing & Business Planning. You will be instrumental in advancing our pricing capability with technical, technological and process improvements with a particular focus on supporting the pricing for our direct classes of business (incl. Marine, Energy, Aviation, Casualty).
You will influence underwriting strategy and execution by providing insights and training to the underwriting community and wider stakeholders This will include communication of results to partners and clients. You will also take on significant managerial and coaching responsibilities, fostering the development of other team members.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Pricing and structuring of large and complex risks that are priced outside of the pricing model framework using a range of techniques.
- Developing & maintaining pricing tools that support the underwriting and pricing process. Establish a consistent framework for methodologies and documentation, ensuring existing tools align with elevated standards. Introduce new exposure models to fill gaps in coverage. Improve parameterisation process and feedback loops.
- Portfolio Steering: Work with the International SLT to align on growth areas and portfolio investment including supporting any resultant analyses, remediation work and or investigations required.
- Conducting peer reviews: Review the work of other pricing actuaries and analysts, driving best practices within the team.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement: Proactively enhance the maturity of pricing capabilities making meaningful recommendations and driving change.
- Partnering during business planning: support assumption setting and provide challenge to produce robust Syndicate plans. Assist in capital setting process through the parameterisation of the underwriting components within the capital model.
- Role modelling & Mentoring: Lead junior members of the pricing team, ensuring compliance with best practices and guidelines
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders across our International teams (underwriting, claims and others) and across the Group Pricing Function.

Your skills and abilities should include:
- Qualified Actuary with at least 12-15 years of experience in the Lloyd’s and London Market with a deep understanding of pricing methodologies covering a wide range of classes and placement types.
- Sirius Point International direct classes include Marine, Energy, Aviation & Casualty RI so experience in these classes would be beneficial.
- Driven and curious, with a proactive mindset and a strong willingness to take initiative and drive improvements
- Skilled at juggling short- and longer-term priorities and keeping stakeholders informed, engaged, and delighted.
- Open, honest, and cooperative mindset; promotes teamwork
- Ability to derive and communicate commercial implications from numerical analysis to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to contribute to and/or lead cross-functional projects and ensure timely delivery.
- Evidenced decision-making skills balancing technical complexity with pragmatism.
- Experience of delivering through others including mentoring, training and coaching.
