Dean of Global Impact and Research
The Dean of Global Impact and Research will provide strategic leadership to advance the University of Chester’s global reputation, research excellence, and international engagement. This role is pivotal in enhancing the University’s performance in global rankings (e.g., QS, THE WUR), expanding transnational education (TNE), and strengthening international student recruitment—particularly, but not exclusively within the Faculty of Health, Medicine & Society, at UG, PGT and PGR level. You will work closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor Research & Innovation and Pro Vice Chancellor International to realise these outcomes.
You will have a Doctoral qualification and will be able to evidence a successful track record of developing TNE and improving global rankings as well as skills in working across Faculties, Schools and with Professional Services staff in international settings. You will have an excellent working knowledge of key trends within TNE, international rankings and will be able to evidence your ability in and experience of academic leadership. A strong working knowledge of REF2029 is essential, as is the ability to attract significant numbers of home and overseas postgraduate research students and an international reputation in research. A willingness to travel abroad and have high level skills in networking is also an essential requirement for the post.
