Job Title: Customer Services Advisor
Location: SG13 8EQ
Pay Rate: £14.00 Per Hour PAYE
Working Hours: 37 Hours Per Week, Mon - Fri
Contract: 5 Month Contract, with the possibility of an extension
Job Purpose
To provide an efficient, courteous, and high-quality first point of contact for all customer queries across multiple channels (face-to-face, phone, and digital), ensuring queries are resolved wherever possible at first contact.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Duties
- Deliver prompt, effective, and friendly customer service across Council departments.
- Handle queries related to Benefits, Parking, Council Tax, Waste, and more.
- Use systems such as CRM, case management software, and digital platforms to resolve issues.
- Promote and support digital self-service and assist customers who need support accessing services online.
- Ensure accurate data entry and document management on customer systems.
- Take PCI-compliant payments across a range of services.
- Maintain a professional reception experience for visitors.
Customer Interaction
- Deliver first point resolution and minimise additional contact.
- Provide accurate updates and set realistic expectations for follow-up actions.
- Maintain professionalism in dealing with complex or sensitive situations, including safeguarding concerns.
Collaboration
- Liaise with back-office teams for escalated issues.
- Suggest service improvements and support the continuous development of customer service.
- Work cohesively across locations and under hybrid arrangements.
Person SpecificationQualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools.
- Desirable: Local authority or public service experience.
