Are you passionate about creating a safe and nurturing environment for children? The Nelson Trust are seeking dedicated Crèche Workers to join our Women’s Centres across Cardiff, Swansea or Newport.
The Nelson Trust Women’s Centres support women experiencing multiple and complex needs through a trauma-informed approach. We provide a crèche service for children (0-8 years) while their mothers or carers attend key working and group sessions. Your role will be crucial in providing a safe space for children, allowing their mothers or carers to feel comfortable and supported.
As a Crèche Worker you will set up and run the crèche, caring for groups of children and liaising with parents and carers about their child’s development. You will deliver engaging play opportunities and activities tailored to the age and developmental needs of the children, ensuring a caring and stimulating environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining records, ensuring the crèche is clean and safe, and supporting the overall development of the crèche service.
We are looking for people who are reliable, flexible, and able to take initiative. You should have excellent communication skills, the ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, parents, and external agencies, and a warm and respectful approach to children. You should have significant childcare experience, an NNEB/NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care Learning & Development (or equivalent), and a commitment to further professional development.
Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
