Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. We are an extremely busy café and sandwich bar. We are looking for someone who has the ability to lead in the kitchen and multi tasking is essential.
- Assist in food preparation, including washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients for meals
- Support cooking staff with meal preparation and cooking tasks as directed
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils
- Adhere to food safety standards and hygiene practices at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation
- Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages
Requirements
- Previous kitchen experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene regulations
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- A keen interest in cooking and meal preparation
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required to cover holidays.
The hours for this position are approximately 33 a week over 5 days and will include every Saturday - No Sundays/No evenings
