We require a experienced Cook for our busy deli in our Ballymena store (27-30hrs per week)
McAtamney’s Traditional Butchers is a family run company, with Oran McAtamney and his two sons, Declan and Dominic overseeing the daily operations. The first store was opened in 1933, since then we have expanded to a total of 13 shops, 4 deli’s, a boning hall and a Gourmet Kitchen facility. As Cook, you will be working in an exceptionally busy kitchen. You’ll be a critical part of the team, making products for our ‘To Go’ deli. Your day will be filled with a variety of tasks from preparing and cooking foods to maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen.
Our customers are the main focus in everything we do and that means giving them the highest quality produce consistently. Experience as a cook working in a commercial kitchen environment is essential.
Duties
Prepping for the day ahead.
- Cooking high quality meals in quantities appropriate to demand.
· Help with the day to day operations and functions of the kitchen, maintaining a high standard of food quality and presentation.
· Ensure all products are prepared on time.
· Assist with stock control – receive incoming supplies; stock rotation; stock take; stock adjustments and recipe costing.
· Avoid unnecessary wastage.
· Ensure excellent food hygiene practices are observed, in all elements from storage, preparation through to finished product.
· Comply with HACCP regulations.
· Work in a safe manner at all times.
· Liaise with other team members and provide instruction and/or feedback as required.
· Ensure equipment is used appropriately and report equipment failures and maintenance requirements.
