We're looking for a Content Strategist to join our team in UK, focused on making sure our campaigns and always on media drive material growth through creative excellence.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but we engage our Contractors all over the world to help us meet our crazy big goals. As a Contractor at Canva you can work remotely in from anywhere in the United Kingdom, meaning you have ultimate flexibility. Wherever works for you, works for us. Please note, this is a 12-month contract with full-time and flexible hours, but you’ll need to balance your schedule to accommodate occasional global team meetings in the evening (6-9 PM)

About the role

As the Content Strategist for UK, you’ll be the creative performance engine behind Canva’s paid marketing in the region. You’ll be responsible for audience insight, creative analysis, sprint leadership, and directing a high-performing creative strategy - working at the intersection of data, storytelling, and cultural nuance.

Your role is to work with channel experts to ensure that our creative system is always improving and driving growth. You understand the market and our customers, dive deep into the tools and lead our team’s execution through the creative strategy flywheel with the broader team.

This is a hands-on, insight-led role where local knowledge, analytical curiosity, and creative excellence drive outcomes.

What you’d be doing in this role

📊 Analyse and optimise creative performance

Analyse dashboards to spot winning creatives, diagnose underperformance, and feed back actionable insights to guide new concepts and iterations.

⚙️ Know our marketing channels

Understand key marketing channels and how media buying influences creative success. We value your ability to break down a winning TikTok format and adapt it for Canva over deep knowledge of specific bidding mechanics.

🧠 Lead the creative flywheel and sprints

Lead the full creative cycle. Research, briefing, production, editing, and analysis - driving sprint cycles with regional/global teams. Develop testable ideas grounded in user insights and market context, collaborating closely with producers, writers, and editors.

🖼️ Work with the broader marketing function

You’ll work closely with media buying experts, the Growth Marketing Lead for Europe, our data science team, the local and global creative teams and other key stakeholders involved in campaign execution and marketing operations.

🌏 Provide local market and audience insight

You’ll bring cultural fluency and market nuance perspective to every project. Identifying regional trends, visual cues, differences in product usage and behaviours that shape effective storytelling in your market.

🎬 Own UGC briefing and localisation

Brief and review creator content to ensure it’s on-brand, relevant, and platform optimised. Resulting in scaling high-performing UGC for local audiences.

🔄 Support conversion across the funnel

Support CRO initiatives to make acquisition journeys seamless, engaging, and high-converting.
