About the Role
Due to continued growth, we're seeking a skilled Construction Operative with bricklaying experience to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to start on a temporary-to-permanent basis with potential opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility.
You'll work across various projects and play a key role in ensuring building works run smoothly and efficiently. Being involved at all stages of construction projects will provide variety and the chance to develop diverse skills. This is not a pure bricklaying role.
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Operative with a bricklaying focus, you will:
- Handle bricklaying tasks including laying bricks, blocks, and stonework for walls, foundations, and structural elements
- Build garden walls, boundary walls, and decorative brickwork features
- Mix mortar to appropriate consistency and apply pointing and repointing as required
- Support general building work as required
- Assist in site setup and clean-up each day
- Prepare and move materials as needed
- Maintain a clean and tidy worksite
- Care for tools and equipment
- Represent the business professionally at all times
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with domestic bricklaying and blockwork
- Some experience in other areas of domestic construction
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and follow direction
- Access to your own transport
Details
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
- Pay: £14-£17.50 per hour depending on experience
- Location: Southampton and surrounding areas
