Live-In Care Vacancy – Complex Care (Spinal Injury Support)
Are you a compassionate and experienced live-in carer looking to make a real difference in someone’s life? We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our specialist complex care team in supporting an independent-minded client with a spinal cord injury (SCI C4/5/6 – Tetraplegia).
About the Role
This is a live-in care position supporting a client with complex needs who uses a manual wheelchair and requires 24/7 assistance. You will be living in the client’s home, providing high-quality care that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
Key Responsibilities
- Full manual handling support using appropriate equipment
- Bowel management (manual evacuation) and suprapubic catheter care
- Personal care, dressing, hygiene, and grooming
- Meal preparation and assistance with nutrition
- Light housekeeping and domestic duties
- Driving the client to appointments, errands, and social activities
- Supporting the client to enjoy their lifestyle choices
- Encouraging independence and supporting the client in accessing the local community
About the Client
- Adult with C4/5/6 spinal cord injury – tetraplegic
- Uses a manual wheelchair
- Enjoys socializing and values autonomy in daily choices
- Requires respectful, patient, and proactive support
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in complex care or spinal injury support (essential)
- Confident with bowel care and suprapubic catheter management
- Holds a full UK driving licence
- Comfortable supporting someone who enjoys smoking and drinking in a respectful environment
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and empathy
- Flexible, professional, and committed to high standards of care
Job Details

- Schedule: Rotational (e.g., 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off – flexible)

- Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (+ expenses covered)
