Job Title: Community Engagement Team Leader
Location: Middleport Matters Community Trust, Middleport, Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: £26,500 - £28,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hrs/week) – Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends

We’re now looking for a passionate and experienced Community Engagement Team Leader to join our dedicated team.
About the Role
You’ll lead a small, committed team to deliver inclusive and inspiring community activities across four local venues. From toddler groups and youth clubs to adult social sessions, you’ll play a key role in creating safe, supportive spaces that promote inclusion, wellbeing and community pride.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a Community Engagement Strategy.
- Coordinate and oversee a programme of activities across four venues.
- Supervise and support staff through regular 1:1s and appraisals.
- Ensure staffing cover during leave or absence.
- Work with residents to co-design sessions and encourage participation.
- Promote positive behaviours and community involvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners.·
- Manage the team budget and contribute to fundraising efforts.·
- Gather data, case studies, and report on progress for funders.·
- Champion a safe community culture.
Key Experience & Skills:
- Experienced in community, youth, or social work.
- A confident team leader with excellent people skills.
- Organised, creative, and passionate about inclusion and community development.
- Able to work flexibly (including some evenings/weekends).
- A clear communicator with strong reporting and IT skills.
- Knowledgeable about safeguarding and project management.
- Comfortable using tools like Microsoft Office and social media.
- Level 2 or above in English and Maths (GCSE, Functional Skills, Key Skills etc.).
- Ideally qualified to degree level (or equivalent experience).
Additional Requirements:
- Driving licence and access to a car.
- Enhanced DBS check (funded by us).
