Job Description

Commercial Lead

Full-Time, Contractual location of Bridgwater, 3-4 days a week in office, work from home available.

Are you ready to lead commercial strategy on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects? At Hinkley Point C, we’re looking for someone who thrives on complexity, excels at stakeholder engagement, and is passionate about delivering real value. If you’re driven by challenge, inspired by innovation, and ready to shape the future of low-carbon energy, this could be your next big move.

The Opportunity

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

As a Commercial Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of commercial delivery within the HPC Commercial Group. Reporting to both the Project Delivery Manager and the Commercial Director, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of contracts, making key decisions that directly influence the success of the project. This is a high-impact role where your leadership and commercial insight will help shape outcomes that matter—not just to HPC, but to the UK’s energy future.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

In addition to a competitive salary of £90,000, we offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll lead the commercial strategy and execution for a portfolio of high-value contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals and driving performance across the board. From procurement through to delivery, you’ll be the key commercial voice—navigating risk, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring value is delivered at every stage.

Your leadership will be instrumental in building a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and embedding lessons learned into future delivery. You’ll also play a pivotal role in stakeholder engagement, working with senior leaders, partners, and regulators to ensure commercial decisions are robust, transparent, and aligned with the wider project vision.

This is your chance to make a tangible impact on a nationally significant project, where your commercial expertise will help power millions of homes with clean, reliable energy.

Who You Are

You bring a strong foundation in commercial management, ideally supported by membership in a recognised professional body such as RICS, CICES, or IOB, and a degree-level qualification. Your experience in major infrastructure or power construction projects—particularly those governed by NEC or FIDIC contracts—will be key to your success in this role.

You’re confident navigating complex regulatory environments, especially within the nuclear sector, and understand the importance of compliance with UK law and site licence conditions. Your commercial instincts are sharp, and you’re comfortable making decisions that carry significant financial weight.

You’ve led commercial teams before, and you know how to inspire performance, manage risk, and drive value. Whether it’s procurement, contract execution, or stakeholder engagement, you bring clarity, confidence, and a collaborative mindset to everything you do.

Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Closing date for applications is Sunday 3rd August, interviews will follow shortly after.
