About the role…
Due to growth within our business, we are looking for an Estimating Assistant to join our team! You will work as part of the estimating team and be responsible for assisting in the preparation of detailed analytical tenders and estimates from first principles. You will set up bids on the Estimating software, develop and maintain a library of outputs and pricing data and you will also assist with the pricing of bids and help develop a feedback database from our existing contracts.
This role follows a hybrid working model, with time split between home and our Derby office.
Key Responsibilities…
- Responsible for managing all tender enquiries with suppliers and supply chain for cost build up
- Work closely with the account operational teams for work winning pipeline and manage all tender information for the framework
- Develop and manage comprehensive project risk registers for the framework
- Assist in the preparation of detailed analytical tenders and estimates from first principals within defined timescales on bids up to the value of £50m
- Assist in the preparation of a comprehensive briefing pack for the Operational Project Teams on all successful tenders
- Set up bids on the Estimating Software
- Assist in developing and maintaining a library of outputs and pricing data
- Experience in NEC 3/4 contracts
- Experience in Clean water and Waste water infrastructure services
- Some background and knowledge in Non infrastructure works is desirable
- Experience in supporting large framework tenders of varying complexity.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Be numerate and computer literate
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products especially Excel and Word
