Job Title : Cleaner Caretaker
Hour : 20 hours per week, flexible working based on demand to include mainly evening and weekend work.
Salary : NJC SCP: 3 - £12.45 per hour
Terms : 20 Hours a week
Responsible to : Assets & Facilities Officer
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
1.1 - To provide caretaking & cleaning of the community buildings owned by Great Dawley Town Council
2. MAIN DUTIES
2.1 Cleaning & Caretaking - To open and close the building as and when required, as a key holder. - When opening or closing for a group, making sure to be there for when they arrive and before they leave. - To check the rooms after each group, things like plugs, lights, hot water etc. Also for any damage caused or lost property. - To set and unset the burglar alarms when entering and leaving a room. - Looking after and preparing the hall ready for each room booking. - Adequate planning of the week ahead to manage the workload in the timescale given. - To report any hazards or faults, which you find within the building as soon as possible, these can be reported to the Assets & Facilities Officer. - To assist the office staff with passing information, letters etc to the groups, also to collect information from the groups for the office.
- To keep the cleaning cupboard clean, organised and stocked up. - To use the correct PPE equipment when required to, as according to the Coshh data sheets.
2.2 Community - First point of contact for the community buildings hirers - Need to be well presented as representing the Council in the community

4. HOURS OF WORK
4.1 - The post holder will work 25 hours per week, hours and times as agreed with the Assets & Facilities Officer in advance to suit the business needs. - Flexible working is encouraged by Great Dawley Town Council
Person Specification
1. EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL - Experience in a similar role DESIRABLE - Knowledge of the local area - Experience of working for a Town/ Parish government
2. SKILLS AND ABILITIES
ESSENTIAL - Organised - Takes pride in appearance and community buildings - Relay any messages accurately and in timely manner - Polite and able to meet customers - Team player DESIRABLE - Able to work events when required - Able to complete basic DIY tasks

ESSENTIAL - Has a commitment to supporting and making positive change within the community. - Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. - Must have a clear understanding of Equality and Diversity and a commitment to applying good practice.
