Position: Children’s Residential Waking Night Support Worker
Location: Lymington – SO41
Working hours: Full time across a two-week rolling shift pattern including every other weekend.
Hourly Rate: £16.00 per hour

Olivia House is a brand new 6 bedded residential home for children aged 4 to 16 whom have a diagnosis of a learning disability. Olivia House is situated in the Georgian market town of Lymington, Lymington is set on the coast in the beautiful New Forest National Park, between Southampton and Bournemouth.

The Role
You will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower our young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people supported and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
Facilitating social, educational and play or recreational activities of their choice. Supporting them to maintain contact with families or significant others is a key priority.
The role requires you to undertake all aspects of day-to-day household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping. Our young people also need to be supported to manage their personal care hygiene.
Successful Candidates
As a member of the team, you will need a real passion for providing a high standard of support that enables our children and young people to be as independent as they can, learn and develop through education and experience, stay healthy and most importantly, have a fun, fulfilling life.
You will ideally have at least one years’ experience working in a residential care setting or experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge however this is not essential as full training will be provided.
You will also hold an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or be willing to work towards the qualification.

Due to the safer recruitment regulations, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check along with rigorous referencing and pre-employment checks.
