We’re looking for a warm, reliable, and energetic Childminder’s Assistant with great initiative to join our small, friendly childcare setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about working with children in a home-based environment.
✨ About the Role:
As a Childminder’s Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the childminder in the daily care of children aged 0-5
- Helping to create a fun, safe, and stimulating environment
- Assisting with activities, games, outdoor play, and learning experiences
- Supporting children with feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene
- Maintaining a clean and organised setting
- Assisting with drop-offs/pick-ups, if needed (mileage paid)
- Helping to complete daily records and observations
✅ Requirements:
- A genuine love for working with children
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and a positive attitude
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
- Previous experience in childcare
✅ You Must Be Willing To:
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weathers
- Get involved in messy activities (painting, water play, sensory play)
- Work independently using your own initiative. Demonstrating professionalism.
- Handle nappy changes, potty training, and toileting support
- Comfort children who are upset, tired, or unwell
- Adapt to the changing needs of the day
- Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality policies
- Attend occasional training or staff meetings
- Work closely with the lead childminder and maintain a positive, professional attitude
