About the role
We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Careers Advisor to join our Learner Services team in Bridlington. The position is part of a friendly, fast-paced, diverse and interesting, key front-line service.
As a Careers Advisor, the post holder would need to be confident working with groups of learners, individuals, colleagues and external organisations in order to fulfil their job role to a high standard, managing a busy work schedule, delivering excellent customer service, producing reports and working towards team Key Performance Indicators.
The role involves some evening and occasional weekend work. On occasions the post holder would work from different locations so would be required to travel.
About the person
The duties of this role involve delivering careers education, information, advice and guidance to current and prospective learners, parent/carers. The postholder would need to work towards quality standards and benchmarks such as Matrix and Compass and to hold, or be prepared to achieve, a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance.
The suitable candidate will also have:
- Excellent communication skills with a broad spectrum of people
- Knowledge of labour market information and it's use in careers guidance
- Up to date knowledge of latest developments in CEIAG
- Knowledge of UCAS, HE student finance and advanced learner loans
- Knowledge of potential barriers to progression
- Handling data and maintaining records
- Report writing and attendance at meetings
- Administering and supporting college events in relation to the role
- Excellent IT skills
- Degree level education
- Drivers licence and access to a vehicle
