We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves working closely with clients to support their daily activities, promote independence, and enhance their quality of life.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with medication management and ensure adherence to prescribed regimens.
- Support individuals with mobility challenges, including safe transfer techniques.
- Engage in behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs.
- Facilitate social activities and outings to encourage participation and interaction.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to relevant professionals.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Experience in care settings such as senior care, dementia care, or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of meal preparation and dietary considerations for various health conditions.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively and compassionately.
- Previous experience in childcare or working with vulnerable populations is an advantage.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in maintaining client records.
- Experience supporting adults and children.
