RPS, a Tetra Tech company has an exciting opportunity for a Bid Coordinator to join our Bid Management team in Birmingham (hybrid). This a 12-month fixed contract to cover maternity leave ideally to start in early October 2025.

About the Team

The role will sit within our central bid team supporting our UK and Ireland Consulting business. The team provide end to end bid management for major strategic bids and work with our extensive network of offices to provide guidance and support on bid management best practice.

We support a broad service offering including planning and approvals, environmental consultancy, design and engineering, project and programme management and health safety and risk. Our sectors include property, energy, transport, defence and government, water and resources.

What you will be doing:

  • Monitoring the bid team inbox to field enquiries and correspondence
  • Identifying gaps, drafting improvements for sign-off and maintaining content for the Bid Library
  • Ownership of smaller scale bids and fee proposals, working directly with technical bid owners (drawing on advice and guidance from Bid Managers as appropriate)
  • Assisting Bid Managers in major submissions by owning individual bid elements
  • Production and ownership of bid plans and supporting documents to facilitate the bid process
  • Arranging bid gateway and progress meetings throughout the bid process
  • Contributing to the written proposal, making sure it fully captures the win themes and value proposition
  • Editing / proof reading bid inputs
  • Supporting wider business development / work winning activity as required, including opportunity / competitor / market research
  • Reviewing and editing project sheets to improve content, liaising with Project Managers to explore and communicate challenges and solutions and added value on projects

Who we are looking for:

  • Experience supporting complex bids involving multiple technical contributors
  • Knowledge of bidding best practice and an understanding of both public and private sector procurement
  • Experience maintaining bid libraries and supporting knowledge/information capture
  • Impeccable organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to keep a calm head and solve problems as they arise
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills and ability to present written information in a structured and balanced way appropriate to the reader
  • Attention to detail – critical eye to ensure consistency throughout documents and compliance with tender requirements
  • Desire to consistently improve documents, processes and professional practice
  • A working knowledge of InDesign and SharePoint would be an advantage
