Overview
We are seeking a skilled Barista and Front of House to join our team at a cafe in the heart of the city in The Training Zone gym reception. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating delicious coffee beverages with latte art, protein shakes and teas.
This is a part time position with 9-16 hours a week.
3-5 x Shifts depending on your availability across Mon-Saturday Mornings. Hours: 6:45AM-11AM. Saturday 8:45AM-11:45AM / Sundays 10AM-12:30PM.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
- Assist customers in choosing menu items, making recommendations based on preferences
- Operate and clean coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines and grinders
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety standards
-Some administrative and cleaning work in reception/changing areas and gym.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale system with accuracy
-Managing the Front Desk in reception
- Help with basic food preparation tasks as needed to make protein shake recipes
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Barista is required, must be able to make artisan coffees, further training will be provided.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours
- Knowledge of food safety practices to maintain hygiene standards in the cafe
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and calculating change accurately
- Candidate to ideally have an interest in fitness but is not required as cafe is located in the gym reception.
