We are looking for a Cook to work as BANK/RELIEF to cover annual leave and sickness absence for our Cooks and kitchen assistants. Notice for annual leave cover will be given as soon as possible but cover for sickness absence may be at short notice. This may be for a day here or there or for a few days a week, as required. If you are happy to be flexible in your work commitments' then this may be the role for you. Situated in a Elderly Residential Care Home (up to 34 residents), You will be responsible for delivering a high quality catering service, following planned menus which are varied and interesting to meet individual tastes and dietary requirements. Our residents like good home made food such as cottage pie and roast dinners. They also enjoy home made cakes and puddings.
We always work with a Cook and assistant, to cover a NINE hour day (8.00am to 5.30pm ) working shift (with a 30minute break), seven days a week. The Rota ensures an even split between week day and weekend working. So you may be required to work on any day in the week.
You will ensure the highest standards of nutrition, hygiene and safety.
Excellent people skills are required to maintain positive relationships with residents and members of staff.
You will need to have an in date level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or be prepared to undertake training toward this. Only applicants with relevant previous experience will be contacted. The position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced level DBS check, which is payable by the candidate but this can be taken from the first wage. We also require two satisfactory references.
