Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Baker/Supervisor to lead our team in a fast-paced wholesale bakery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in professional baking, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality products. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily baking operations, managing production schedules, ensuring all orders are completed on time, and maintaining a high standard of product quality and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Production and Quality Control:
* Oversee and participate in the production of brownies, tray bakes, and other baked goods, ensuring all products meet the company's quality standards and specifications.
* Conduct quality checks on raw ingredients and finished products.
* Team Leadership and Management:
* Supervise, train, and mentor a team of bakers.
* Create and manage daily baker's lists and production schedules to meet wholesale and retail customer orders.
* Delegate tasks effectively and ensure all team members are working efficiently.
* Foster a positive and productive work environment.
* Operational Management:
* Ensure all bakery operations run smoothly, from ingredient preparation to packaging and dispatch.
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies to prevent shortages.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues that may arise.
* Administration and Communication:
* Report on production progress and any operational issues to management.
* Ensure all required documentation, such as production logs and inventory records, are accurately maintained.
* Communicate effectively with other departments, including sales and dispatch, to coordinate order fulfillment.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience as a baker in a professional setting, with experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques, food safety standards (HACCP), and kitchen equipment.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility to work early mornings, or late evenings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week
