We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a keen interest in food preparation. As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our bakery operations, ensuring that high-quality products are prepared and presented to our customers. This position requires a commitment to food safety and an understanding of kitchen practices.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes.
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in product quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Support the head baker in daily tasks, including measuring ingredients and mixing dough.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and assist with restocking as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods.
Skills
- Previous experience in a bakery or kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
- A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn new techniques in food production.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
