Job Summary:
- Within a team environment, the Associate works on a range of assignments in support of project development, Bechtel equity investments, project financing, M&A and other commercial activities.
- The office location is in London, UK, but domestic and international travel may be required depending on business needs.
Major Responsibilities:
- Financial and economic analysis of potential projects, new markets, new technologies, potential partners, competitors, and M&A targets to evaluate profitability, risk, and other factors.
- Project development activities including financial modelling, commercial structuring and negotiation, and project financing.
- Support project bids and project financing for public-private partnership infrastructure projects, including preparing qualifications and proposals, reviewing commercial agreements, and analysing potential financing, development, and partnership structures.
- Analysing commercial terms and conditions in order to provide recommendations to business units to enhance competitiveness and/or mitigate risk.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or similar discipline (II.I or above) and significant related experience.
- Master’s Degree (MSc or MBA) preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated interest in infrastructure and energy investment, financing and development.
- Command of finance theory and the ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical issues and decisions in business.
- Proficiency in project finance modelling (including demonstratable experience of model development), Microsoft Excel and other quantitative analysis tools.
- Ability to perform quantitative analysis independently is critical.
- Eagerness to help Bechtel identify and seize new business opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Foreign language skills and work experience in multiple countries are beneficial.
