Ready to make a difference that matters?

At Basingstoke Nursery, we’re not just a nursery—we’re a vibrant, supportive community where children feel inspired, empowered, and celebrated. As part of the Kids family, our focus is on inclusion, joy, and genuine care for disabled children and young people. Every day is a new opportunity to spark imagination, nurture growth, and share laughter.

Now, we’re looking for a passionate Assistant Practitioner to join our enthusiastic team and help shape the futures of the children in our care.

What You’ll Do

As an Assistant Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in creating a warm, nurturing, and fun-filled environment for up to 90 children. Your days will be full of creativity, connection, and opportunities to truly make a difference.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead Through Play: Deliver engaging, play-based learning that supports each child’s development and celebrates their individuality.
  • Create Belonging: Foster a loving, inclusive space where children feel safe, heard, and understood.
  • Support Individual Needs: Champion the emotional, social, and communication needs of each child, encouraging confidence and exploration.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a passionate, supportive team to meet challenges and celebrate milestones.
  • Ensure Safety: Maintain a secure, safeguarding-first environment where all children can thrive.
  • Apply EYFS Knowledge: Bring the Early Years Foundation Stage and OFSTED standards to life in everyday activities.
  • Track Progress: Help monitor and evaluate children’s development, offering tailored support where needed.
  • Empower Voices: Encourage children to make choices and express themselves, helping them become confident decision-makers.
  • Build Relationships: Connect meaningfully with families, colleagues, and children—creating a nursery that feels like home.

What We’re Looking For

You’re someone who’s full of heart, energy, and empathy. You bring creativity to your work and compassion to every interaction.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • ✅ Experience working with disabled children and young people.
  • ✅ A Level 2 Early Years Qualification (must be on the DfE checker).
  • ✅ A warm, adaptable, and inclusive approach to early years care.
  • ✅ Great communication and teamwork skills.
  • ✅ A strong understanding of safeguarding and EYFS practices.

Please note: Applicants without the required qualification cannot be considered.
