Living Well Consortium is recruiting for two Apprentice Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. The successful applicants will undertake a clinical placement with LWC alongside undertaking study with Staffordshire University.
The apprenticeship post includes one day per week at University as well as four days of supervised clinical practice and self-directed study through ‘on-the-job’ training. Apprentices are expected to progress towards working with a large degree of autonomy, with high volume caseloads including individual and group work. This may include telephone sessions, video consultation, and face-to-face clinical work. The role is well supported with weekly clinical and case management supervision from qualified clinicians. In addition to clinical contact, the role will include data collection, data management, analysis, and note writing.
Apprentice PWPs provide low intensity interventions through a range of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based self-management techniques. They support clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
The key entry criteria for the apprenticeship are:
- Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent) for which certificates must be provided
- Right to work in the UK for the duration of the apprenticeship and End Point Assessment
- Applicants must have lived in the UK for at least the past three years continuously
Applicants do not need to have a degree qualification or experience in mental health, however experience of working with people experiencing mental health problems (either in paid work or voluntary roles) would be desirable.
