The role
As an Air Traffic Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Ensuring the integrity of the airfield is always maintained, that the movement area, equipment and surrounding areas are fully serviceable and support safe operations.

Day-to-day, you’ll ensure all legal, contract and business documentation in compiled correctly, Maintaining unit currency and competency in line with the Unit Competency Scheme, as well as:
  • Support with duties that include Safety Management Systems, processes and improvements. Risk Assessments and adjustments. Hazards logs, safety surveys and the ongoing training of all staff in these disciplines.
  • When qualified, carry out OJTI duties. Ensuring standards and training delivery meets the requirements in the Unit Training Plan.
  • Perform duties as Duty Air Traffic Control Officer where required and carry out any other duties as required in support of the contract.

This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Wittering. Shift patterns and timings may change locally and if deployed to match the needs of the Customer; weekends are included.

Experience of the Air Traffic Controller:
  • OJTI qualification. Previous Mentoring and training, mentoring new starters in this role.
  • Met Observer’s certificate. Previous experience of acquiring and processing meteorological information, ensuring that meteorological data is updated accurately and provided within specified time limits.

Qualifications for the Air Traffic Controller:

  • CAA UK Aerodrome Control Rating.
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above.
  • Current UK Class 3 Medical Certificate.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
