We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join our team to provide services to victims of rape and sexual assault within the context of a non-judgmental and confidential service.
The post holder will support and work alongside clients with specific needs to access all appropriate SARC services.
The post holder will provide telephone support, information and crisis management to clients who are attending SARC for an examination, support, counselling or to provide a statement to the police or give evidence via a live link to Crown Court.
The post holder will work creatively to ensure clients’ attendances at SARC are comfortable, appropriate and safe
Main duties of the job include being able to provide support and crisis management to individuals who have experienced rape or sexual assault.
To provide developmental, therapeutic play and recreation for all ages and diversities in an effort to fulfil emotional, social and developmental needs.
To create a positive environment and positive patient experience for all children and young people and their families who visit SARC. This will include participating in events, projects and schemes
To provide flexible hours of work to meet the needs of the SARC Service. This may include late afternoons and some evenings
To be a communication link with Health Care Professionals/Police/Social Workers for the child/young person and the parents/carer providing continuity of information and care where applicable
To assist the child/young person and family to adjust to SARC Services by providing orientation visits to the department.
To devise individual play/recreation programmes fulfilling developmental and recreational needs when appropriate
To offer telephone support and information to children, their families or clients with learning needs who will be attending SARC for a forensic medical support prior to their attendance
To support clients through a forensic medical examination by liaising with the police and forensic physician on behalf of the client
